Barcelona+B is a local community within a global movement that transforms the economy
Barcelona+B is part of the B Corp movement, a global network that drives business transformation. In this way, we address the major social and environmental challenges of our time. This international community therefore demonstrates that another way of doing business is possible: fairer, more inclusive, and regenerative.
Barcelona+B was born in 2022 as a public-private alliance with a transformative vocation, following a participatory citizen laboratory that defined its main guidelines. Since then, the project has evolved, and today we are entering a new phase. Furthermore, we continue to promote collective solutions to social, environmental, and good corporate governance challenges. For this reason, we focus on collective impact. However, beyond funding, we build purpose, vision, and action together with our current strategic partners: B Lab Spain, EADA Business School, and Ferrer.
Since its inception, Barcelona+B has had the support of key public institutions. For four years, the Barcelona City Council was a strategic partner through Barcelona Activa, its economic promotion agency. Thanks to this collaboration, the strategic vision of the project could be promoted, free awareness workshops funded, and Treballem+B sessions rolled out in municipal facilities.
Over time, we have forged new alliances with the Barcelona Education Council, ACUP, and the Barcelona+Sustainable Network. Thanks to this, we bring educational resources to schools through our Eduquem+B project. In addition, we maintain an active agreement with the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities to promote labor inclusion through Treballem+B.
In parallel, we continue to dialogue with stakeholders such as the Government of Catalonia, the Chamber of Commerce, and Acció. The objective is, therefore, to consolidate and scale our collective impact. This advocacy work is carried out by B Lab Spain, the project’s driving entity, registered in the Register of Interest Groups of the Government of Catalonia.
