We want Barcelona to enjoy and represent the talent of its citizens and the social diversity that characterizes it. To this end, companies are a key player that can generate inclusive employment opportunities that leave no one behind and foster the emergence of talent. Companies that work with the purpose of generating a positive impact on society are companies that look towards the future the city needs. That is why we present Treballem+B, the project to promote workplace inclusion in Barcelona+B companies.
We believe it is possible to empower, attract, and retain the talent of our city through more inclusive companies. That all of society feels invited to participate in the community where they live and to contribute to improving it. Because workplace inclusion adds value to companies themselves: greater employee motivation, improved work environment, enhanced company reputation, increased innovation, provision of multiple solutions to possible challenges, and greater and better productivity that impacts the Return on Investment (ROI) of companies.
Workplace inclusion is the master key to equality, the axis of social and economic integration, the overcoming of poverty, and the key mechanism for transformative recovery. We appeal to companies because they are a crucial actor in influencing how a society develops, both in generating jobs and in maintaining them. We believe that business models with purpose are necessary, bringing benefits to society as a whole and to the planet, and one way to achieve these benefits is by promoting workplace inclusion. Companies are the ones that can incorporate into the labor market people at risk of being excluded by society, whether due to socioeconomic origin, abilities, age, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, etc. An inclusive work environment promotes a more just and equitable Barcelona, a social model for a more sustainable city.
Inclusive companies look toward the future while taking action in the present. Barcelona has entities and companies that are driving labor inclusion and are already a leading example we want to inspire and motivate the commitment and action of more companies. They are committed organizations that contribute to a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive city.
