How can we improve the way people and organizations relate to each other to work better? We will collaborate to promote decent and inclusive work!
Treballem+B is a process of co-creation and joint activation of practical solutions to drive improvements in corporate inclusion. Want to know how we do it? Keep reading!
Treballem+B is based on an innovation and collaboration methodology involving citizens and experts from the business, academic, social, and public sectors. The two main phases in the development of Treballem+B are Exploration and Co-creation. Let us tell you more!
From October 2022 to January 2023, we carried out the first stage of Treballem+B: the Exploration phase. During this period, we identified the main challenges and tools surrounding labor inclusion, taking into account all axes of exclusion (gender, age, disability, origin, etc.).
The process included, on one hand, actions with citizens involving a participatory intervention and an open online survey to gather the perceptions of Barcelona residents regarding the challenges linked to a more inclusive Barcelona in the workplace. In addition to an action with experts through an exploration workshop to identify the main factors and challenges related to labor exclusion and visualize tools that allow for the joint creation of practical solutions to drive improvements in inclusion.

Through the active participation of various stakeholders and groups from the business sector, foundations, and entities working on labor inclusion in Barcelona, we seek the co-creation of solutions following the Barcelona+B lines of action and based on the conclusions of this first Exploration phase.
In this way, the purpose of the co-creation phase is to create communities of learning and practice, working collectively to drive creative ideas, strategies, and tools that improve labor inclusion conditions in Barcelona.
Based on the conclusions drawn from this process, the Treballem+B manifesto was drafted, and various dissemination and awareness-raising activities were carried out. Currently, the companies and entities that have signed the manifesto participate in meetings where they share learnings and drive collaborations on labor inclusion.
In the B Citizen Lab participatory space, the influence of companies in providing solutions to city challenges and the importance of fostering collaborations between various actors were highlighted. Furthermore, we identified that Sustainable Development Goal No. 8, on Decent Work and Economic Growth, is one of the top concerns for Barcelona’s citizens. Therefore, we want to contribute to this SDG by focusing on inclusion in the labor market and decent work: from job offer design and selection processes to induction, integration, and retention within an organization.
