Barcelona+B is an alliance of businesses, educational institutions, the public sector, social entities, and citizens. In one of Europe’s most polluted metropolises, we seek to improve the social and environmental impact of businesses and citizens while promoting a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive city. Faced with the need to act against the climate crisis and social inequalities, the goal is for us to change the way people and businesses relate to our place of origin, becoming agents of change for a new economic paradigm. We are all Barcelona+B.
We promote three lines of action to project Barcelona as a leading city in business transformation and contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals from a local perspective, within the context of the 2030 Agenda.
We foster impact business models that strengthen the entrepreneurial character of the city's business fabric and its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.
We articulate collaboration opportunities between businesses and institutions that address the main problems of the city and its inhabitants, co-creating effective solutions that improve the city.
We invite citizen participation in the search for solutions to contribute to Barcelona's challenges.
Cities can be better for people. Cities can be better for the planet. Cities can lead sustainable transformation if all stakeholders unite: businesses, government, academia, citizens. This is the essence of Cities Can B, an initiative born in Latin America, of which Barcelona+B is its latest addition.
Barcelona+B is an initiative promoted by B Lab Spain, EADA Business School, and Ferrer. But many more organizations and individuals collaborate and support it.
